Wooenf Survey

3XSeptember 2023 by Mark Sow

Route description

This route follows the New River path between Wood Green and Enfield. The New River path mostly runs alongside the New River, which is a shallow canalised watercourse bringing water into London from Hertfordshire; in some places where there is no access to the riverside the path follows suburban roads. The path is generally in good condition and well used, although in some places it is narrow, and quiet. There may be ducks, geese, or swans. At Enfield the route goes through Enfield Town Park, where there is a very good park cafe. There are plenty of other opportunities for refreshment throughout. This is a slightly longer route than Wooenf One, but it is considerably greener and more interesting. There are kissing gates and steps on this route. There is no lighting along the river path so not really an after dark route.
