Heading in to the studio via the Slow Way

18th May, 2021 by Cristie Moore

Rapper JD walks his commute through his much-loved Lake District

Rapper by night, outdoor instructor by day, Josh is heading to the studio in Dalton. Why not take the Slow Way? "Rich inside I won’t ever be a pauper/ My whole life I been a walker" go the lyrics of his love-song to his neighbourhood.

The rhythm of the walking… it helps me connect to the rhythm of the music

This short film by Henry Iddon and Rich Berry follows him on a local South Cumbria walk, and features Josh’s own Lake District-inspired track Great District by Swerve & JD. Check him out on Spotify, Facebook and Instagram.

This film was supported with funding from The National Lottery/Sport England.

Check out this bright and beautiful little animation that celebrates our launch day!

To mark the launch of Slow Ways today, thank you very much to Jess Mountfield, freelance animation director, designer and lecturer, for volunteering to make this beautiful film for us and to Jo Riley for composing the soundtrack.

The short animation captures the spirit of Slow Ways... it's far more than just a network of walking routes.
