NOT RECOMMENDED VERY DANGEROUS ROAD WITHOUT PAVEMENT SECTION...

There is a need for care when crossing the busy A19, There were one or two places where I was unsure which way to go but overall this was a pleasant and enjoyable walk particularly the countryside section near Burgwallis I also checked out the roadside section on ADWICK LE STREET TO ASKERN THREE VERY DANGEROUS AND NOT RECOMMENDED...

A great countryside section which was a little difficult to navigate but still very pleasant....

This is a safe and enjoyable route, replacing ADWASK THREE which has a dangerous road section. I would certainly walk this route again. Although it starts and finishes in built up areas, there is some very pleasant countryside in between especially around BURGWALLIS...

Slow Ways Welcome Team added Adwask four, a new walk from Adwick le Street to Askern
Walk this routeThis walk starts in a built up area around ADWICK LE STREET and CARCROFT but soon embraces playing fields before heading alongside woodland and open grassland towards the quaint historic village of Burghwallis....

Slow Ways Connections added Adwask three, a new walk from Adwick le Street to Askern
Walk this routeAccess to the Doncaster Cycleway was from just before the roundabout, and had a cycle barrier restricting the available width. The track continued past the back of some houses and eventually brought us out by a retail park on the north side of Doncaster centre. We stayed on the north east side of North Bridge Street over the railway, and used stairs to get down into the car park, in order to cross underneath the road through arches, and into the bus station. The only alternative, from the north, would be to detour through some of the open shopping area and come in to the station square from the east....
Mary Oz
This route is impossible because there is no way from the south west side of North Bridge Road directly into the bus station then rail station....
Mary Oz
The route started from Marr with 1.4km of road walking along Church Lane with no pavement. A grassy track led onto a gravelled cycle track which we followed as it weaved back and forth....
Mary Oz
A short pavement walk from the station via the attractive stone church leads to Doncaster Road, which tells us we are heading the right way. We fork left from Sustrans route 62 and after passing through a retail park, hopefully gates never closed we arrive at a major road crossing. We cross water and rails then take steps to the lower level which allows us to pass under the bridge and enter the subterranean bus station which may not be accessible 24 hours so the road tunnel might be the only midnight route....
Ken
No direct access to Cycle route at Great North Road and no access to bus station as shown....

A mix of road and community woodland walking. To avoid more road walking this route makes use of Brodsworth Community Woodland one of the many colliery spoil heaps in this area. Not sure where we wait to meet on the road at the station so perhaps the church or park would be a better bet....
Ken
Just before the roundabout we leave the road to turn left along the signposted cycle track, then left again onto an old railway. Either way we cross through an archway under North Bridge Road and into the bus station, then follow signs for Trains to reach the meeting point outside Doncaster station....
Hugh Hudson
From the Marr meeting point, Church Lane is a short pavement walk west. This takes us to Green Lane, which is wide enough to be safe, and we cross under the motorway bridge to find a little path left that twists to join the main wide track through Brodsworth Community Woodlands, an old colliery tip now a country park....

Walk this routeMary Oz added Maradw two, a new walk from Marr to Adwick le Street
Walk this routeUnfortunately the route from North Bridge Road to Doncaster station cannot be followed as plotted, as the route down through the bus station goes from the east side of the road not the west - there is no exit from the west side other than the road tunnel....
