NOT RECOMMENDED VERY DANGEROUS ROAD WITHOUT PAVEMENT SECTION...

There is a need for care when crossing the busy A19, There were one or two places where I was unsure which way to go but overall this was a pleasant and enjoyable walk particularly the countryside section near Burgwallis I also checked out the roadside section on ADWICK LE STREET TO ASKERN THREE VERY DANGEROUS AND NOT RECOMMENDED...

This is a safe and enjoyable route, replacing ADWASK THREE which has a dangerous road section. I would certainly walk this route again. Although it starts and finishes in built up areas, there is some very pleasant countryside in between especially around BURGWALLIS...

Walk this routeThis walk starts in a built up area around ADWICK LE STREET and CARCROFT but soon embraces playing fields before heading alongside woodland and open grassland towards the quaint historic village of Burghwallis....

Slow Ways Connections added Adwask three, a new walk from Adwick le Street to Askern
Walk this routeWalk back to Moss Road and turn right. Keep on the footpath, crossing the bridge over the River Went and then turning right on Lowgate BALNE and follow this road all the way to the canal bridge. At the lock, cross the canal to the other side, turn right and then enter the farmyard of Manor Farm, following the drive and turn right onto Main Street POLLINGTON. Turn right on East End and then left and right onto Berridge Lane. Turn left at Carr Lane and left again at Finnleys Lane. Turn left on the footpath which leads to Spa Well Lane and passes a former brewery and boasts a Blue Plaque. Continue on Butt Lane to the Main Road where you need to turn left and then right at the mini roundabout and then left into Market Place, where you will reach your destination....

Continue to the road and turn right past Lockgate Farm, passing over another railway crossing. A pleasant walk with open countryside both sides, passing through Balne, and on to Pollington. Turn right the route takes you through the village, turning right onto Berridge Lane and on to link up with Finlays Lane, passing over the M62 and into West Cowick....

This walk uses quite a lot of minor roads(without pavements) but they are not busy roads and I felt safe walking on them. The walk crosses the River Went which is pleasant and there is another pleasant section alongside a canal....
