Report

Great walk through some lovely countryside and woods. Nice views from the Chevin. The turn onto the footpath from 'Millbank' in Yeadon was not immediately obvious, but there is another path shortly afterwards, which joins the footpath at 90 degrees (the red one on the map) which is much more obvious. One particularly tricky road crossing of Leeds Road, which is a fast (40, but feels faster when you are on foot!) and busy road, with not amazing visibility at that spot. But I don't think there is any way round that. The descent through the last wood before you get to Pool (parallel to Old Pool Bank) was beautiful, but very steep in places and occasionally difficult to navigate. An alternative for people who don't fancy it would be to walk down the road (Old Pool Bank) instead, although there is no pavement and it is a relatively well used but narrow road, so in general I'd suggest sticking to the woods.

A pleasant route quickly leaving the facilities of Yeadon, enjoying the views across the Wharfe valley and down through the quarry history above Pool.

Muddy in places, some rough tracks, stiles and kissing gates, with one fast road crossing.
