Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

12 Jun 2021This route is EPIC. I walked it as part of a longer trek and camped at Appuldurcombe in Wroxall just outside of Ventnor and finished the route on the next day. It was an incredible route. I was shrouded in fog and mist the entire time, but I could tell on a clear day the views would be stunning. On a misty day, the walk was gorgeous, but in a different way! I even discovered what looks to be an old mill of some kind half-buried in the forest!
I'd just warn that around Limerstone Down the path can be very tricky to find and follow, so I might recommend (if walking Ventnor to Yarmouth) sticking to the dirt road on the top of the down instead of following the Slow Way down the side of the hill, then using the path labeled Pumpfold Lane or the one directly to its east to get back down off the Down again.
What a fantastic and epic route.
