Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

09 Feb 2023This is a good walk - especially, for me, the first half (starting from Yarmouth), with some wonderful views across the Solent from the higher ground (do look back as you head up Broad Lane - sadly, I couldn't capture these properly with my phone camera!)
It was muddy in places, but not excessively so, given the time of year (early February).
There were a few occasions where the route was not completely obvious on the ground - such as crossing the fields from Broad Lane - so having a navigation app (Komoot) was helpful in giving me confidence I was heading in the right direction!
There were also a couple of places where it is necessary to diverge from the Slow Ways route for a short distance, because the paths have been moved. The first, coming out of Mill Copse, outside Yarmouth, is easy to find & follow, because it is the only route available; the second, on Dodpits Lane (heading towards Newbridge) requires taking a footpath almost immediately (just down a lane) rather than a bit further up the road.
My walk as recorded by Komoot is available here: https://www.komoot.com/tour/1027129315.
