11 Nov 2023Starting in the centre of Yarm, the first couple of km are on pavement as you head out of Yarm. The first (and only) off pavement/cycle lane section is across a couple of fields, including 3 stiles, down Leven Bank. The path has been diverted past Mount Leven but is easy to follow. The road crossing, to access the pedestrian bridge over the River Leven, is slightly scary. Once over the river you have to cross the road again (still scary) and the walk on the bridleway to climb back up into Ingleby Barwick. After a short section of road pavement, you're onto Barwick Lane which is a surprisingly lovely cycle/pedestrain path into the centre of Ingleby Barwick.
