22 Feb 2023 (edited 23 Feb 2023)This is almost a very good route, but it is let down by lazy plotting. I tried to walk it from Worcester to Upton, but I couldn't find a way up from the riverside path to the one on the top of the bank south of the Worcester bypass bridge, other than the yacht club road which has a private sign so I stayed on the river path to Kempsey, and I have submit that as WORUPT 2. I also fell foul of a path closure south of Diglis for resurfacing work, which meant a detour via Waverley Street, but that should be very short term. For a more detailed review with pictures see WORUPT 2.

01 Feb 2022Fabulous walk that mainly follows the Severn way along the river. Near enough 12 miles but it flew by. Peaceful riverside sections, farmland, lakes and woodland, it had it all. The weather helped.
The route takes you to Kempsey about halfway where there is a small Morrison's and three pubs. I stopped at The Talbot for a quick pint of walking petrol.
The path out of Kempsey is a bit muddy and overgrown and there is a diversion while they are working on the bridge and roundabout on Worcester's southern relief road. This involves crossing a busy roundabout, but it is only temporary.
Anyway great walk, I'm off to explore Worcester for more walking petrol.

22 Feb 2023Did you actually follow the route? I don't think the link from the riverside path to the top of the bank south of the bypass bridge exists...

23 Apr 2023I think this might be a case of where the route works in one direction but not the other. The plotting is terrible but I think I can see how I might have diverted to make it work coming from the south but not from the north
