23 Aug 2022Lot's of road walking. Some of it unnecessary - agree on previous reviewer pointing out the Harringay Ladder passage. After Finsbury Park station - instead of walking down Saint Thomas's Road you can (when there isn't an Arsenal match on) go up the steps just before the rail bridge and into Gillespie Park Nature Reserve which is a nice off road path. It can be followed down to Drayton Park road then making a left onto Martinau Road to rejoin the original route.
Strider
22 May 2022I walked from Wood Green to Highbury.
The walk starts along narrow pavements made narrower by parked cars, lots of traffic. I would choose to walk along the traffic-free Harringay Passage, parallel, just to the East.
On arrival at Finsbury Park the route goes through a fence. Go left or right off-route to find a gate into the park and re-join the route in the park. Finsbury park is lovely.
More road walking past Finsbury Park and Arsenal tube stations until Highbury Fields, a welcome green space with a cafe. This leads right up to Highbury & Islington Station.
This route is blocked at one point (can be walked around) and goes along busy roads unnecessarily.
I think it can be improved.

06 Mar 2022An easy to follow walk, although very hilly. The section through Finsbury Park was best, especially because it has a cafe and toilets. I would suspect that when Arsenal has a home game, sections of this would be ridiculously busy though, so maybe best avoided then. Highbury Fields was another highlight.
