Description
It is a long walk from Wooler to Alnwick, but this route, along a mixture of ancient byways and quiet minor roads plus well maintained paths over moorland, pasture and meadow, is generally easy going and accompanied by magnificent views of the Northumberland scenery. There is a pub serving highly recommended food and a good selection of local beers at Eglingham. The final gradual descent from the radar station on Alnwick Moor along the Hulne Park wall takes you to the Park Gates and, from there, a very short walk to the centre of Alnwick
