Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

10 Jun 2023Unfortunately I cannot recommend this route to anyone. On leaving WInslow, the first footpath across a field is poorly waymarked and the field itself is totally covered in tall thistles. Once you've found your way to the far side you emerge onto the road which you then follow all the way to Granborough. The road has fast moving traffic and no footpath. I hoped things would improve after Granborough as the route goes over fields but, again, the paths are poorly defined. In some fields the grass has grown to thigh height and you have to fight your way through with the grass getting tangled round your legs. It would be impossible for anyone with mobility difficulties to walk through. From North Marston, although there is a footpath sign, the path is not evident. We ended up going in the wrong direction and had to climb over a field gate to get to where we needed to be. Then the route goes back to the main road (again fast traffic and no footpath) and continues along that road all the way to Oving and on to Whitchurch. The whole of that part of the walk had been so unpleasant that we gave up at Whitchurch.
