Description
This route is an incremental improvement on Warroy 1, responding to notes left in the route reviews. The detour following the roads by the station in Leamington has been amended to follow the pedestrian (and shared use cycling) underpass. Entry point to St Nicolas Park in Warwick is amended to avoid the steps

12 May 2022Lovely route, but inaccurate at two points. In particular, if you were heading from Leamington Spa towards Warwick, there would be a risk of confusion or going the wrong way after Victoria Park.

12 May 2022A generally sound route but with a couple of faults in the plotting. I followed this route from Warwick to Leamington Spa. The choice of route through Warwick could not be faulted and made good use of roads with crossings and then green spaces. The first problem came as you leave the river to join the canal at Jephson's Farm. The plotting suggests that you join the canal on the near side, which you can't. The canal is an aqueduct so it's obvious that there's no way to join the canal on the near side but the group of us were left to figure out that you gain access to the canal by going under and then turning left before climbing a set of steps. It would have been really helpful if the plotting had indicated this. The second issue was the crossing into Victoria Park. The problem comes with the fact that the plotted line does not follow the path and suggests crossing the car park. This was not an issue going the direction we did but had I been walking this on my own, starting in Leamington Spa I think it would have misled me. The rest of the route into Leamington Spa was really pleasant and the use of the underpass to the station was a good amendment. A fuller review will be posted for the corrected version.
