Description
As I wanted to join 4 slowways together to allow me to walk to RHS Bridgewater I decided to walk a different route than the opening route. This was also due to a recent period of very wet weather.
This is a pleasant walk that passes along the Duke of Bridgewater's drive from Worsley Old Hall and through a golf course.
There is an uncontrolled road crossing on the A575

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

27 Feb 2022I chose this route as I wanted a more direct route to Worsley, and given a period of very wet weather I wanted to avoid some very muddy footpaths included in Walwor one.
This route initially follows a busy road, but soon changes to residential streets. This path then follows the Duke of Bridgewater's carriage road between Worsley Old Hall and his mines in Walkden. There is a traffic controlled crossing of a busy road and the route then borders a golf course and passes by Worsley Old Hall. The final section is on a road footpath.
This is a wheel friendly route and was not very muddy even after a period of heavy rain.
