Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

Aamwalk
22 Jul 2023I walked from Wadebridge to Bodmin on a pleasant July afternoon. As stated in the earlier reviews this is a straight forward accessible route that follows the well known camel trail (about which you can find more info online and is for walking, cycling and riding).
The path is a wide metalled path with a gradual ascent as the route climbs towards Bodmin. It passes through beautiful countryside (see photos) and follows the camel river and is a haven for wildlife. It has a number of points where you can get off the path to birdwatching etc. including Dippers and Kingfishers amongst more common species. These are not as accessible.
It also still has a few bits of rail heritage including bridges and platforms. There is a cafe by Nanstallon Halt, a pub by Dunmere Halt (both at the Bodmin end) as well as places in the two towns.
The photos I attach are of the surrounding area just a few paces from the main path.

05 Oct 2021Excellent way, with beautiful landscape, to get from Wadebridge to Bodmin by foot or cycle following the Camel Trail. Benches, cafes and well maintained surface make it suitable for most walkers.

23 Apr 2021Follows the Camel Trail from Wadebridge into Bodmin town centre. This is well used by cyclists, horse riders and walkers. Very busy route in the holiday season. It is easy going route, well maintained.
