Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

24 Dec 2022We did a section from Raunds to the A45 crossing point, and note here for others reference. From Raunds town out to Farm entrance is paved. There is a powered gate at the farm/ind. estate entrance that was closed when we retraced our steps, with no obvious way of opening it. The path on from the farm goes past a dog training enclosure (with dogs) and down the margin of a field, through a rickety love gate and further margin until coming to a ploughed and seeded field with no pathway left for crossing to the gate at the A45 crossing point. We tried skirting the edge of the field but the margin was ploughed at the far side and there was no visible exit other than the gate on the marked given. The weather had been wet and the fields were heavy clay! In dryer conditions the crop would need to be crossed. It is sad that no path has been left as the margin had been cleared of most nettles and brambles, though the grass is rough. Hope this helps others.
