29 Nov 2021I walked from Poulton-le-Fylde to Thornton. From the A road, the entrance to the footpath is not signposted, and is not obvious. At the end of the fenced path, the golf course is reached, where the footpath signposting is also not that obvious. GPS on OS Maps app helped me to find the exit from the golf course onto the main road. It’s helpful to know that the pylons cross the road at the same point though! This road is very busy, one lane in each direction, and crossing it can be difficult. The next footpath is directly opposite, through a small gap between two full size gates. The footpath has no lighting but several warnings that you are on CCTV! And you can see the camera too! From here on the route zigzags through housing until Thornton and its disused railway and station are reached. A short and reasonably pleasant route, except for the main road crossing.
