Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

08 Mar 2022A good route starting outside Sutton Railway Station. It takes you past a couple of stops and shops before taking you on a mainly residential route as far as St Helier Hospital. On the Saturday I walked it, the rain was starting to fall and a cold wind blew. I wasn’t expecting much from the route, but then I noticed the views to my right of Downtown Croydon and the Crystal Palace Transmitter on the hill. Beyond St Helier the path follows the pavement next to a park so you get a bit of wide open space. The plotting gets a bit vague at Poulter Park so you get a choice of how you get to the River Wandle. The path beside the river was very muddy so I’m glad I was wearing boots. The final approach to Mitcham comprises of stops, shops and places of interest, including the oldest continually used cricket pitch. Overall, this route is pretty functional but still holds some gems.
