Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

29 Mar 2024I walked this route today traveling east from Streetly. A great route worthy of five stars as it mainly goes through Sutton Park. The short sections of pavement walking at either end are brief.
I did the walk on Good Friday which with a sunny start to the day made it quite a busy walk, but very enjoyable nonetheless. Top marks and definitely recommended!.

19 Jun 2021Good direct route. Starts by the Chester Road and then follows a quiet residential street to the edge of Sutton Park. Passing through the golf course initially it is worth keeping an eye out for stray balls although golfers do seem sympathetic to walkers and will delay teeing off if necessary. The route follows the route of a road track used by cars. When we walked it for this review it was quiet, but when I walked it for another Slow Way later on it started to get much busier which was a slight nuisance but not a danger. The walk is pretty and the park is very well used by locals jogging, cycling and walking their dogs. As you leave Sutton Park you turn left and make the short walk round to the front of Sutton Coldfield Town Hall. A good route. Full marks.

29 May 2021Short route keeping to well made paths through the park with some sections being shared use with vehicles. Pelican crossing by the golf club for the busy Thornhill Road and a Zebra crossing at the bottom of Upper Clifton Road. There is usually an ice-cream van by the Jamboree Stone in the centre of the park which also sells soft drinks.
