Description

This route follows the Statha route for the initial half in order toavoid a section of busy road with no pavement at Molehill Green. It rejoins the original Stagre route around Little Easton and into Dunmow.

I have suggested a detour to the first footpath in Stansted to avoid steep steps and a very overgrown section of footpath for the first approximately 50 netres. Other sections of the footpath were overgrown in June 2023 but passable, preferably wearing long trousers.
The first half of the route gives an interesting perspective on the area around a railway line, motorway and Stansted airport flight paths. The countryside is actually very pleasant, although traffic noise is not far away. The second half is through farmland and wooded areas passing through the pretty village of Little Easton

Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

  1. Complete the survey training.
  2. Submit a survey for this route.
