Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

14 Apr 2022A good route between Coventry and Solihull. Tries to avoid just walking out along the main road from Coventry. HS2 an issue outside of Berkswell but you were able to cross the site (see photo 1) at a slightly off route path (see photo 3). This diversion may change in the future. Section of the route is along the River Blythe so could become flooded.

14 Apr 2022This is a nice route between Coventry and Solihull, but be aware that HS2 means the path might be blocked and a detour necessary.
We started in Coventry, with a view of the Sherbourne before it disappears under the city, and catching it up again not long after it re-emerges. Then followed a walk through the suburbs and through ancient Tile Hill Wood before leaving the city towards Berkswell.(photo 4) We stopped for tea in Berkswell, but there was also a pub choice.(photo 3)
Continued on from Berkswell and encountered the first real problem, HS2 have blocked the path. Followed the diversion to find a man whose job it was to see us safely across the 'road' over the site! (photo 2) The only other main issue for me was as we joined the canal on the edge of Solihull, there was no path along the busy road and the steps down were steep. I've suggested an alternative in the photos (photo 1). Entering Solihull was nice, past the shops to the bus station.
Due to stiles, steps and narrow paths, not suitable for bikes or chairs.

02 Jun 2021Shortly after Berkswell the route is blocked by HS2 construction work. Access to Park Lane isn't possible.
