Description
The current route follows a stretch of fast road north of Waddington where there is no pavement or verge. Potentially dangerous and certainly unpleasant walking. This alternative route may be a bit longer, but the navigation is relatively straightforward and the views from the top of Easington Fell are outstanding. The only significant stretch of road walking (north of West Bradford) is along a very quiet country lane with a footpath running parallel for much of its length. Likely to be very wet underfoot in places after heavy rain, but passable year-round with care.
From Clitheroe Station, head out of town on Waddington Road, then head right through Brungerley Park and follow the Ribble to West Bradford Bridge.
Cross the Bridge and continue on the road to West Bradford and climb through the village to Eaves Hall Lane.
Continue past the Hall itself and up onto the moors, past a lonely barn and up on a rough track to the plantation.
Follow the path along the plantation edge to the cairns, then continue left along the path as it follows the ridge west then right onto rough quad track descending on the track via a string of hill farms to cross the quiet lane along the Easington valley and after another short climb, descend across the fields to cross the Hodder into Slaidburn

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
