Strider
10 Aug 2024 (edited 11 Aug 2024)I walked from Royston to Foxton.
This is an easy to navigate, idyllic, beautiful walk.
But it needs modifying.
1.The path between Melborn and Meldreth train station is being repaired and is closed from 29/7/24 for 10-14 weeks. It was a long walk around.
2. The path behind Meldreth Post Office is not a Right of Way, there is a gate with 'Private No Entry'.. As it was 'locked' with a piece of string I passed through, but a long detour otherwise.
3. The path across Shepreth L-Moor is invisible, soggy, very overgrown with grass and reeds, only navigable by GPS. Very difficult walking. The accessible path is signposted around the Northern, drier edge of the Moor.
Too many problems, which although temporary/solvable, mean this is a fail.
I'm going to post an alternative which should solve these problems.
