Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

23 Nov 2022An easy route, both to walk and to follow. Mostly on roads, which are unpaved off the main roads but fairly quiet, fairly wide and with grass verges for the most part. I always felt safe on the roads. The way in and out of Ripon was pleasant. The rest of the route rural, without being spectacular. There are pub stops at Wath (evenings) and at Melmerby slightly off route, but worth a visit. Both are near the middle of the route. The section along the A6055 is safe, as the road has grass verges on either side. It is not pleasant however as this road is used by heavy vehicles and as it is straight, they tend to be fast.
