Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

02 Dec 2022Mainly quiet roads. Steps at Sanderstead Station and Whitmead Close (over route of former railway). Pleasant area at Park Hill Recreation Ground before getting to East Croydon.
I've added Purcro two to correct slight route error at Sanderstead Station.

14 Nov 2022I walked this route on 12th November 2022. The route is fine, if a little dull. Apart from the walk through the park at the beginning of the route, it is mainly along suburban roads. It does the job of getting you from A to B. Not suitable for wheels as there are steps, including over a couple of railway bridges.

28 Nov 2022Looks like there's a route error on the map at Sanderstead Station. Don't think you can get to the station from Glossop Road - use Station Approach off Sanderstead Road?

28 Nov 2022You're probably right John, and I forgot to mention it. I don't remember having any problems on that bit of the route but I was checking the map regularly so it would have been obvious where I needed to go.

02 Dec 2022I've walked it today. Added Purcro two with correction. Diverted slightly through Park Hill Recreation ground to keep to surfaced paths.
