Description
After walking ProInd1, this route corrects some issues with non-existent footpaths on the ground. One such path south of Ladock was impossible to get onto, so this route takes a different approach to Probus (north -> south)

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

15 Jan 2023I walked this route from Indian Queens to Probus. It was an enjoyable route, almost all busy roads had pavements and felt safe, and the quieter lanes were pleasant. The route takes most of ProInd1, but fixes an issue south of Ladock, where a right of way was inaccessible.
Indian Queens seemed quite quiet, but is on a bus route with a few shops and a pub. Probus has a bit more going for it, and is also on a bus route. Summercourt and Ladock both have shops and other amenities and make great places to rest and resupply on the route. There are some architecturally impressive churches on this route too. In one or two places the path was flooded, at point west of Penhale a run and jump was required to clear a burst stream! But we have had exceptionally heavy rain over past weeks, so this was testing true winter conditions.
The right of way heading south-west onto Narrow Lane (near Penhale) was a bit strange, where the path and stile are 'hidden' behind a wooden gate to the right of the cottage. The owner showed us the way, and was happy to let us through, but it seemed strange that the official path was behind what looked like a private gate.
The second (southern) crossing of the B3275 is a little more dangerous than the first with no pavement. Cars do fly along this road at the national speed limit, but it is a relatively straight section with some verge to hop onto when cars do pass. It is only a roughly 100 m stretch so not a game changer in my eyes.
This is a pretty direct Slow Way which adheres to the methodology and will make a great addition to the network.

15 Jan 2023Walked this route from Indian Queens to Probus during January after a period of very wet weather. Supplies are available from shops in Indian Queens, Summercourt, Ladock and Probus. The route utilises a significant number of lanes but these were mostly very quite and pleasant walking with footpaths on any busier sections bar a very short crossover. Footpaths were in the most part well signposted and though very muddy in places were still passable in walking boots which considering the weather over the preceding weeks was surprising. Overall an interesting and enjoyable route.
