Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

03 May 2024I walk this route on a regular basis (I get the bus to Pershore and walk back to Evesham) I agree with the comment about the road section being dangerous after the Jubilee bridge (after Fladbury) heading to Charlton.
That section of road has no walkway at all, but at least it’s only a couple of hundred metres on the (twisty) road. I don't walk the recommended alternative through Cropthorne as it involves road walking too. Safer, yes, but its a lot longer to get to Charlton that way.
At Charlton, I also agree about following the lane to the left instead of the signed pathway as it can certainly be overgrown in the Summer and very muddy in the Winter
I normally stop off in Fladbury for a "pie and a pint" before continuing to Evesham through Charlton
It’s not a perfect route, but if we only walked perfect routes, we have a lot less routes to walk. As always, take care.

22 Jun 2022This starts and finishes with lovely walks but the middle was not enjoyable and some of it was dangerous. I walked it from Pershore to Evesham and the waymarking may be better from the other end. After Wyre Piddle the path is a bit overgrown, then enters The Springs Holiday Park. It’s easy to take the wrong path: from Pershore keep left after the first lake. We went too far right. The proper path passes through a field and straight across the lane.
Leaving Fladbury the road is dangerous: bendy, no walkable verge. Take the poorly signed Mill Meadow on the left to walk safely to Jubilee Bridge. After the bridge avoid the road that locals treat as a race track by diverting towards Cropthorne.
Through Charlton, use Ryden Lane instead of the footpath indicated, almost impassible on midsummer day. Where Ryden Lane finally becomes a road follow the signed footpath left leading quite steeply down to the river where the chain ferry operates most days (£1). Carry on into the town or through the meadows. Or follow the road into Hampton and back over the main bridge.
