Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

12 Sep 2022This is a Great route between the two settlements with good facilities, it is reasonably direct and a varied, enjoyable walk. Any roadwalking required is useful and manageable.
Take either of the two clear lanes into the clay district (ignore the little wooded lanes cllose to the - quite narrow - swing gate) they both converge in the same place.
The route shown into Trethurgy is the best and most reliable in my experience.
If you wish to take the lower and more direct footpath into Trethurgy (It has been cleared recently :) ) be aware there is a very narrow metal zigzag barrier. Walk straight through the second footpath in front of you and head north up and through the village to rejoin the route. This is quicker and safer; drivers have had a chance to slow down and see the walkers in the road signs by then.
The path round the Eden Project gets (and stays) muddy in places but is a well used and loved path.
Traffic is usually well behaved but can be a bit sudden on the steep and winding Corn Hill near St Blazey. The footpath from behind the church follows the field boundry between the woods and Corn Hill (less the odd corner bit.)
Highly reccomended for slowways.
