I walked this both ways, watch out for the unobtrusive footpath that takes you between Treverbyn and the High path on the Downs, it forks at one point but Treverbyn is down the hill....

It takes in the quintessential clay district and is readily navigable save some steep steps over the railway, and possibly a few easier ones on the footbridge over the A391....

If you wish to take the lower and more direct footpath into Trethurgy (It has been cleared recently :) ) be aware there is a very narrow metal zigzag barrier. Walk straight through the second footpath in front of you and head north up and through the village to rejoin the route....

The suggested B3374 often becomes a rat-run for the A391, The road is not terribly straight or flat so drivers' sight lines are poor. The day I reviewed this route I did not feel at all safe and could not reccomend it as a walking option....

Follow this path to the anti vehicle bar onto Menacuddle Lane, walk down menecuddle lane, at the junction head downhill and follow right into Tremena Hill. The path will eventually lead you to a road bridge, cross the road and follow the adjacent path to Penwithick....
