Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

30 Jun 2024This route looked good on paper but unfortunately was a bit problematic to walk.
Starting from Shaw it is straightforward until you cross the tram lines (stairs up to the track here). From here the path crosses a couple of fields which were very wet underfoot in a number of places and contained a variety of livestock; horses, sheep and some very inquisitive young cattle.
The real problems come after crossing Cop Road. The footpaths marked on the map here weren't always evident on the ground. When walked on a Sunday afternoon this land was being extensively used by trail bikes, quad bikes and other off-road vehicles which made it feel intimidating and unsafe. It's possible that this would be less of an issue at other times of the week.
