Description
This is a good and tested route for walking between North Petherton and Bridgwater.
It's mostly the same as Norbri One but is an easier route through the newly built Willstock community. It also avoids a broken and heavily overgrown stile on Stock Moor (OS Grid Ref: ST 29170 34464), making use of a well used path just to its south instead

13 Nov 2025I walked this from Bridgwater to North Petherton. The plotting across Northfield has you cutting across the corner of the allotments, which is impossible, you need to go around the corner. Meads Eco-Park was nice, but my natural instinct was to stay on the gravel path, but I discovered I needed to drop down from that path and through a gate into a cow field. This was the first of several fields where it’s much easier to walk around the edge than straight across as the plot and the OS Map indicate. Some of the footbridges across ditches, and their approaches, were very muddy as in cows! The cows were not interested in me, happily.
The new housing estate was quite easy to navigate, now that it’s finished, along green paths, housing streets and off-road tarmac paths. After this, the field-edge paths, alongside drainage channels, were mostly easy to navigate and pleasant to walk on. There was one gap in the hedge that I nearly missed and one or two fields where I had to walk through crops, although in November this was okay.
I really liked that for a large part of the route I could see the church tower in North Petherton, beckoning me on! The enclosed path up into the village was rather steep and muddy. The route ended at a bus stop with other facilities nearby.
Parts of the route were really nice, and I saw a great egret too. However, it was very muddy in November, and at times it was a bit tricky to follow.

14 Feb 2023I did enjoy this route, as it crosses nature reserves and open countryside. The route through the new build at Willstock is a little different from Norbri (1) but easier to follow now that Willstock Lane is open again. Be prepared for more changes as more building continues here. Overall a safe and easy route.

14 Feb 2023Enjoyable shorter walk - this route is accurate but take care with the route through the new build housing estate as there is new buildings popping up.
