28 Apr 2022A pleasant short walk initially following a path by the side of the railway line. It then becomes a river walk as it follows the River Usk before heading along a road through an industrial area on its way to the centre of Newport.
Leaving the centre of Caerleon, the path winds its way through a couple of suburban streets before crossing a bridge over the railway line and then running alongside it past a housing estate and the River Usk flood plain until the railway crosses the river. The path then takes the form of a boardwalk as it follows the River Usk. It deviates for a while while it circumvents Pillmawr Point and then re-joins the river as it runs alongside the A4042 dual carriageway.
The path then goes under the M4 motorway, emerging in an industrial estate on the outskirts of Newport and going on to the centre alongside the main road into Newport.
