Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

18 Jun 2023I ran this route on a hot overcast Saturday in mid June, after a good month without rain.
Mostly this is a good route and will suit people on foot or on wheels.
Both New Alresford and Petersfield have a good selection of shops and cafes and public loos. There isn't much on the way though. Petersfield has a proper station, and New Alresford has the Watercress Line which will take you to Alton and the mainline trains.
Most of the first part of the route keeps to the back lanes which were pretty quiet on a Saturday morning.
It did cut through a few fields and woods which were ok, but might be muddy in wet weather.
However this route suggests you cross the A3 on foot which wasn't very nice and drops you into the industrial estate.
I would suggest stopping this route at Rothercombe Farm and swapping to Corpet One, which will take you across some fields to a bridge over the A3 and take you into a nice part of Petersfield and straight down to the shops and station.
If the end of this route was changed I'd give it 5 stars.

19 Mar 2024Penny, thanks for your review. The A3 crossing really means this route is not suitable to be part of the Slow Routes walks. I have used your suggestion and added Newapet two which of course needs a review. John
