Description

This route is almost the same as NARLEI 3, which is a very good route in normal conditions, but because the path from Littlethorpe to Whetstone floods when the river Soar is high, this is an alternative that still works after prolonged heavy rain or melting snow. It is the route that I took when following NARLEI 3 from Leicester to Narborough after backtracking having decided that the flooded section did not look viable. The pavement of Warwick Road (the Littlethorpe to Whetstone road) is a wide cycle track and is completely safe
