Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

11 Nov 2023 (edited 11 Dec 2023)November 2023. Direction: Blaenavon to Nantyglo.
This route was created to avoid the issues described in my Nantbla1 review, and is an excellent mountain walk and a fairly direct route between Blaenavon and Nantyglo.
There are still the access problems near Blaen yr Ystruth farm. The stream / marsh at the bottom of the field just under the farm is quite deep in places and you need to use the clumps of grass as stepping "stones" to get across. Some boards have been laid down in one spot to help the crossing, but it`s not an easy path. Also, leaving the open moor, to enter the fields heading towards Blaen yr Ystruth, the gate is tied, so a little gate jumping is needed here.
