Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

26 Mar 2022I was walking Morlee One but came across a path blockage at White Rose, so I made this route option to bypass the blocked path.
Any praise is intended for the maker of Morlee One :)
This is a really good approach route to Leeds city centre from the South-West. First I walked downhill through Morley, there are some nice looking bars and small shops along the road. Then some residential streets lead eventually to the last few fields before the city. Great view of Leeds from the top of the rise.
Next up is the White Rose shopping centre. The route goes right by the bus station, and then along the busy ring road before turning uphill to Beeston.
Eventually the route comes to the edge of a high ridge with a great view, then a steep drop down a grassy bank to a footbridge across the M621.
Follow a cycle/foot path to Holbeck Moor Park and walk through Holbeck. Now there are some roads past industrial units, then gradually the city centre bars and creative spaces start to take over.
The final part of the route goes along the canal and river before climbing steps up to the railway station, and round the corner is the meeting point.
This is a well thought through route which finds green spaces and connects some distinctive areas of Leeds in a fluid way.
When the station at White Rose opens it may be worth reviewing whether to make a new route option, but for now I think this one works very well.
There are plenty of steps and some uneven and steep footpaths.
