This walk is fine, but I would say that it is probably not the way I would choose to go.

It would be very easy on the Margate end to at least partially avoid walking along the really heavy traffic sections simply by taking one road over in places. Having said that, these busy road sections have pavement and you are not in danger of being run over. The benefit to walking this way is you will get to see some interesting murals on the sides of buildings.

Other notes: the footpath across the field at Garlinge has a history of being inaccessible during late summer (speaking from experience) when I walked it today it was fine as there was no crop down. This is not really an issue as you can just follow the pavement round and end up in the same place, the footpath only cuts a corner. From the footpath or the pavement you will be able to see the 'Gatehouse' at Dent-De-Lion.

As other reviews mention the one part that that is likely to present an issue is the short section along Minster Road turning onto Shottendane Road. There is no path here.
You can walk on the edge of the field, but be aware that this is not a real path. It is rough underfoot and if it is very muddy or there is a tall crop on the field you may have difficulty. I would strongly advise against trying to walk on the road itself. Even when it isn't super busy people like to speed along it.
I would not class it as dangerous simply because you can technically walk on the field edge, only that you should take care.
It is actually possible to avoid this section, but only by altering the route considerably and increasing the length of the walk. The deviation would also lead you to walk along unpaved roads, but the roads are much quieter.

Later on walking across the field past the Manston Road pumping station (in the direction of Minster) part of the field is currently planted up with rape seed. It is not (technically) blocked, but you will have to push right through the middle of it.

The rest of the walk is fairly easy if not exactly pretty as it will take you through the industrial estate and then across some main roads (there are proper crossings) and on into Minster.

The route officially ends at the church, but it is a short walk further down the road to the train station if you need it.

Quite odd leaving Minster as you follow along the road before heading along a very strange concrete footpath through an industrial estate, but once you're out into the fields it's quite a beautiful walk and very easy to follow.

There was a somewhat scary road crossing around Minster Road, but we were walking around rush hour and I can't imagine there is a better route.

All in all, a very efficient and fairly pleasant route.

Nice shortish route, bringing you through some nice fields etc.
