Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

15 Apr 2024I walked this route from Minsterley to Church Stretton.
Lovely walk with 2 nice climbs. Quite a lot of road walking (hence 1 star knocked off) and there are probably a few alternative routes but they may make the route much longer.
It's a pretty east route to follow with well-trodden paths, good signs, quiet (mostly) roads and any stiles are in really good condition (April 2024).
The final decent into Carding Mill Valley is a well used track but at the bottom, is quite eroded and the rocky nature may be tricky for some (approach with care). You might also get your toes wet after crossing the stream if the recent weather has been wet!
For info (via Strava) it was 13.1 miles and 2,513 ft of Elevation gain. Took 4 hrs 26 mins.

07 Aug 2023Absolutely stunning route. Hard climbs up to both the Long Mynd and Stiperstones but the views more than make up for it. Did this route from Church Stretton Station, over the Long Mynd to Stiperstones and camped near Snailbeach. Finished the route the next day.
Moorland paths through heather are nice, but navigation may be more challenging in low cloud conditions. The climbs are recommended only for those with a good amount of hill fitness.
No stiles on the walk so dog friendly. Minimal road walking, and what road walking there was covered quiet country lanes.
