04 Apr 2023Agree with David that this route does not work as the industrial site is locked with no access.
I'm going to share Milble Three as a potential solution.

22 May 2022I started this route in Bletchley and the route starts really well. However, it falls apart as it nears the A421. First off it directs you through the Denbigh Hall Industrial Estate which is gated at either end and is not a right of way. I was feeling forgiving and swithered over whether this was actually a snail (I was aware that I was the third reviewer in) or a fail. I made my way around to the left side which involved some verge walking and I was presented with the A421 to cross. Had I not been reviewing, I would have taken my chance to find a gap in the traffic and head across. It's only because I was reviewing, that I discovered that the route across the industrial estate lead to a path which leads to an underpass under the A421. When I first volunteered for Slow Ways I was really envious of anyone who'd got to plot a Milton Keynes Slow Way. From my one previous visit, I knew that the entire city (as it is now) is designed to be the most accessible in the UK, with ramps, underpasses, greenways, lanes, wide pavements and parks. So you can imagine that I was a bit taken aback when I was presented with a set of steps to climb into a residential area. In some ways MK suits Slow Ways, but because the walkways are often set away from the road they wouldn't be visible on Google Street View and so would not suit the plotting system which relied on it. I can only assume the plotter of this route had never been to Milton Keynes. I abandoned the route at this stage to walk an accessible version, which I did. I rejoined it at the National Bowl but then abandoned it again when asking me to join the main road rather than following the much more direct greenway through the parks to the meeting point outside the station. Indirect, on road, and inaccessible, this is not a Slow Way I can recommend.

25 Aug 2021This is a pleasant and direct walk with wide footpaths and no stiles or steps. Only given 4 stars as could be improved by going via Teardrop lakes rather than using red ways close to the main roads for the first mile or so.
The way to go via the Tear Drop lakes is to turn right as come out of Milton Keynes railway station and follow national cycle route 51 over Railway bridge then turn left to the Teardrop lakes, (would make route slightly shorter as well). Rejoins the walk just before Milton Keynes bowl.
As starts and ends at main line railway station very easy to get back to start.

21 May 2021Five star route - step free, no obstacles, well lit, very good and wide paths. Great for all abilities. Not particularly scenic, but pleasant and green in places. One item to note - the route shown is blocked by a locked gate when heading from Milton Keynes to Bletchley, but easy to navigate round, just take the footpath left at Denbeigh Hall Industrial Estate and skirt round the edge, adds about one minute of walking.
