Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

08 Dec 2023Enjoyed this route as a winter trail run
First part along the river was flooded and impassable so initially followed Bath Road up towards Sturminster High School, thereafter route was muddy, very muddy and very wet underfoot in place, but passable
Great views as you make your way along down to the river Stour and across towards Stalbridge also looking back south beyond Sturminster
Very, very muddy around Shepherds Farm, mainly due to cattle congregating around gateways. From memory, this section can get quite overgrown in summer with nettles and brambles, so 'take a stick' territory
Signage is clear and reliable throughout. A route more for walking/running not wheels and definitely one to keep on the list for future, especially as you can make it circular, coming back to Sturminster via pathways running east around Hinton St Mary.

13 Aug 2023I walked Marstu one as part 3, after Stastu and Stalmar.
The first part of Marstu is identical to the final part of Stalmar.
From Shepherd's Farm (after 1.5K) the route of Marstu is the same as Stastu.
For more details, see my review of Stastu one.
