Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

17 Nov 2021A challenging route from Macclesfield over mixed terrain traversing some of the highest ground in Cheshire before dropping down into Buxton.
A pleasant start to the walk using back streets rather than the well used Buxton main road.
0.3 ml stretch on the narrow Buxton Old Road without pavement or verge which is dangerous considering the traffic speed on the road.
Route heading to Teggs Nose and through Macclesfield Forest up to Peak View Cafe is pleasant with good views. Stake Clough and Berry Clough leading to Burbage had a variety of paths that could be challenging.
This route is only for experienced walkers. If you frequently walk over 12 mls with up to 3000 ft of ascent and are competent using maps you will have few problems.
