Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

03 Jan 2022We use part of this route often to walk from Greatstone to New Romney.
All roads are quiet but there are no footpaths. Dunes Rd in Greatstone is unadopted so is uneven and potholed. There is a wooded section bisected by the Romney, Hythe, Dymchurch railway. This path can get a bit and muddy in places. There are gates to cross the railway.
The road to New Romney is quiet and flat with lovely views over the marsh of Lydd airport and Dungeness power station.
The route is fine for both walking and cycling.

25 Mar 2022The part of the route from New Romney to Greatstone is as Paul describes and find for walking and cycling. It is the section from Lydd next the Sea to Lydd that cannot easily be walked or navigated. See my review below.
