Description
This alternative and slightly longer route removes several problem areas I found while testing LEIKIB one. The main one is to use the Grand Union canal rather than walking through Great Glen, which avoids both an unpleasant stretch of road walking and what appears to be a trespass using a farm lane that is not a right of way. I have also changed the route out of Leicester city centre and the route through Oadby - the golf course path is wet and goes through a new housing development, and the A6 has a good pavement, so the straighter line seems preferable.
