Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

One Woman Walks
21 Jun 2025A lovely route, through fields, easy to follow but with one major drawback. In the field path just after Lechlade mill, there is a crow scarer placed right next to the footpath. It's gas powered and emits a loud bang like a gunshot. It's in the long grass at field edge and I had the bad luck to be right next to it when it went off. My ears were ringing for ages. Absolutely do not recommend walking there with children. It was very bad luck on my part, I couldn't have been closer to it. I took a break in the next field and it went off again almost exactly half an hour later. The farmer should not be placing it next to a footpath.
So you may have a lovely walk, or you may be partially deafened and at risk of a heart attack.
