Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

01 Sep 2023Not passable as currently shown. Assuming travelling from Dalry towards Largs:
The route from Dalry up the road is fine, if a little overgrown on the short-cut between Meikle Broadlie and Baidland Mains (NS 277500).
The problems are in the section after you leave the road by Glenside wood. That starts as a clear track as far as the corner by Diamond Hill. (NS 214 538) At that point the route as marked ceases to exist on the ground - the markings on the OS map are for a line of electrical pylons, but its just across a trackless bog for the next mile or so. There may be other routes from this point to the Fairlie Glen, either further up the hill, or through the woods past the cup and ring marked rock, but neither were clear on the ground, and as its currently shown I was forced to turn back.
