Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

The section from Kirton-in-Lindsey to Blyborough, while on an unpaved minor road is acceptable, as the traffic is largely infrequent. The short section along a tree avenue, past Blyborough church is a highlight, although the dip in the road here is liable to flooding. From Blyborough the route directs along a RoW that crosses fields, at the time of writing these were freshly ploughed, and with the recent rain and high clay soil, it is worth just continuing along the road to Willoughton instead.
From Willoughton the route suggests ascending the 'cliff' to join the B1398/Middle Street. This is where the route becomes dangerous and unsuitable. It is a very busy road, with lots of fast flowing and varied traffic, with cars/bikes often over taking slower vehicles.
Where the route leaves the B1398 it enters the old airfield, and the walker is greeted with a 'No Entry' sign. Much of it is now arable farmland, and again there was no visible footpath to follow over the freshly ploughed clay soil.
A better option would be to follow either the footpath or lane that connects Willoughton and Hemswell, then continue through Hemswell to the A631, which at the point the footpath joins it, has a footpath up to the roundabout, then follow that road which has slightly wider verges into Hemswell Cliff.
