Although the route from Scotter to Scotton is a fairly well used road, it also has a pavement, set back slightly from the carriageway, so is ideal. From Scotton the route follows briefly the unpaved Kirton Road, before heading across fields on a PROW to Kirton. This section is shared with GaiKir two....

This section ends on the west edge of Hibaldstow, where the route continues past the Church. The second section is the shortest, from Hibaldstow to the River Ancholme, and is fairly straightfoward walking through the village, past the church and continues along a road (unpaved, but not heavily used), and then along a field boundary to the river, crossing a couple of drainage dykes along the way. On nearing Brigg the route leaves the canal-like New Ancholme and follows the old river towards town, onto an unpaved road, and then after going under the railway, rewarding us with a picturesque tree-lined avenue on the approach to the outskirts....

From Blyborough the route directs along a RoW that crosses fields, at the time of writing these were freshly ploughed, and with the recent rain and high clay soil, it is worth just continuing along the road to Willoughton instead. A better option would be to follow either the footpath or lane that connects Willoughton and Hemswell, then continue through Hemswell to the A631, which at the point the footpath joins it, has a footpath up to the roundabout, then follow that road which has slightly wider verges into Hemswell Cliff....

Walk this routeThere are a few problems with this route; it's an odd choice to deviate through Morton, and the section from Morton to Owlet Plantation is along a road that has no footpath, though the road itself isn't terribly busy, it is used frequently enough that you'll be passed by numerous vehicles. The main issue is the section that follows the B1205 between Welwyn and Newly House. There is no path along this road, and is a heavily used road by all types of traffic....
