Surveys

We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.

Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

In addition to the other reviews, also worth noting that the plotting is misleading when just to the west of Hagley. The plotting suggest a non-existent footpath, this caused us to turn right from the route and look for it, rather than turning left and following the right of way.

A really good route. But I have to agree with the previous reviewers that as it stands it cannot be approved. From SO 8652 7796 through Wannerton Farm and Downs Plantation to Churchill Road SO 8757 7853. The road is marked as private and there is nothing on the OS map to suggest otherwise. The alternative I took was to go north on the minor road to Waggon Lane, turn right then right again at the bridleway to rejoin the route at Churchill Lane. There is another alternative using a network of footpaths to the south. But I haven't tried that. I will be posting a suggested alternative route.

This is a delightful stroll beside the Blakedown Brook from Kidderminster through the villages of Blakedown and Churchill to Hagley.
The route generally follows the travel corridor, parallel to the railway line towards Birmingham.
The proposed route from Perriford Lane to Blakedown is private property and requires an alternative route.
The end of the route at Hagley station allows for an convenient return trip to Kidderminster by train.

Tackled route in reverse after days of storms and it was nowhere near as muddy as expected. Generally good although route takes you down a private road which may not be appropriate.
