Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

01 May 2023A fully accessible route with no steps, running along the good towpath of the Forth and Clyde Canal. Over the Kelvin aqueduct and up past the Maryhill locks, before using the new bridges at the canal junction.
Here we leave the canal, and travel along two roads towards Gilslochill station, which sadly isn't accessible (stairs only).
A good canal walk, step-free, with good paving and towpaths, with not too steep inclines. A better alternative to the original route.

23 Apr 2023This is a great route along the canal and in my view preferable to Kelgil one after I ran it in reverse as part of the loop with the other route. It is very easy to follow overall and the canal is a very pleasant place to walk, quiet clean and well signposted. After joining the canal, you go over the impressive bridge system and can take a short detour to the viewing platform in Stockingfield Park. After that it is an easy walk along the canal including passing the many locks at Maryhill until you reach Kelvindale.

23 Apr 2023Thanks the review; I only walked/posted it two days ago and have yet to write my review! The road route is okay; just not the best!
