Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

19 Jan 2023Want to get between Totnes and Ivybridge? This is a great way to go!
I walked this last April.
It's very similar to Ivytot One, but my local friend adapted it slightly so that the route uses some quieter lanes and it's a little shorter too. I can imagine there is a great (longer) Ivytot Three to be made too.
I really enjoyed walking this route and would 100% walk it again!
The right of way at Earlscombe Farm (between Ivybridge and Ugborough) is a few metres east of the farm buildings, which is slightly different to the path on the OS Map.
If you don't like walking on lanes or can't use steps, stiles... or in one place a rope to help you over a wall... then this route will unfortunately not be good for you.
Personally, I loved the deep green lanes that were full of flowers. There are some great views to Dartmoor too.
I reckon everyone in Ivybridge and Totnes who like to walk should give this a go. It will be especially delightful in spring and summer... but it's a good way to get from A to B too!.
